EMBER ("EMBER," "we," "us," or "our") provides this Account Deletion Policy to explain how you may request deletion of your EMBER account and associated data, and what happens when you do. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. How to Request Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time by:
- using the account deletion option within the App's settings, where available;
- submitting a request through our Account Deletion Request Form; or
- contacting us at emberandfeedback@emberwit.com with your request, including the email address or username associated with your account.
We may ask you to verify your identity, or to confirm that you wish to proceed with deletion, before processing your request. We will process verified deletion requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When your account is deleted, the following generally applies, subject to Section 3:
- You will lose access to your account, your profile, and any content, purchases, or benefits associated with the account.
- We will take steps to delete or de-identify the personal information associated with your account from our active systems.
- Content you previously shared publicly may continue to appear if it was copied, downloaded, or further shared by other users, or as retained in cached or archived copies; we are not responsible for content that other users have saved or re-shared outside the App.
3. Information That May Be Retained
Deletion does not always result in immediate or complete removal of all information. We may retain certain information after account deletion where we believe in good faith that retention is necessary to:
- comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations;
- detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- resolve disputes;
- enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements; or
- protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.
Any such retained information will be retained only for as long as necessary for those purposes and in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may also retain information that has been de-identified or aggregated in a manner that does not reasonably identify you.
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel any active subscription. To avoid future charges, you must cancel your subscription separately through your Google Play account settings before deleting your account, in accordance with our Terms of Service.
Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already paid. Refunds are governed by the applicable App Store's refund policy and applicable law.
5. Re-Creating an Account
Once your account is deleted, you may not be able to recover it or any content associated with it. If you wish to use the App again after deletion, you may be required to create a new account, subject to these Terms and any applicable restrictions.
6. Requests on Behalf of Others
If you are a parent or legal guardian seeking deletion of a child's information, please refer to our Children's Privacy Policy. Deletion requests concerning a deceased user may be subject to additional verification requirements.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Account Deletion Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Policy within the App or through other reasonable means. The updated Policy will indicate the date it was last revised.
